MLC Elections: Voting starts at 15 polling booths in Nagpur District

89.10 per cent voting took place till 2 pm today for the Nagpur Authority constituency election of Maharashtra Legislative Council. A total of 560 voters are in this election. 499 voters exercised their franchise till 2 o’clock.

Nagpur: The voting of Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) Biennial Election 2021 started at 15 polling booths across the district on Friday morning.

The voting commenced at sharp 8 am and set to end at 4 pm.

Out of total polling booths, 12 are in Nagpur rural areas while 3 are in the city.

There are 559 voters registered for the MLC election. Out of 559 voters 155 are from Nagpur Municipal Corporation, 71 Zilla Parishad, and 334 Nagar Parishads and Nagar Panchayats.

With a drama, a day prior to elections, now just Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Chandrasekhar Bawankule and Independent candidate Mangesh Deshmukh, backed by Congress are in the fray.
