Nagpur News: The newly nominated MLC (Member of Legislative Council) Prakash Gajbhiye on Tuesday promised to provide permanent (concrete) houses to the slum-dwellers who had settled in the city till the year 2000. At the same time, Gajbhiye said that he will extend his full support to these slum-dwellers who are fighting for their rights for the past many years.
The NCP leader, who was recently nominated as an MLC from Governor’s quota, was addressing a press conference organized at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan on Tuesday. Talking to media, Gajbhiye said that he has been serving the common and needy people for the past 25 years and will do the same in future also. “Now, when I have little more powers I will use them for the betterment of the public,” said Gajbhiye. The MLC also said that he will try his best to get 5 acre additional land for Dikshabhoomi and make efforts to resolve Indu Mill land dispute.
Talking about the fund which he will get for development, Gajbhiye said that he will establish an IAS and IPS coaching institute for the underprivileged young students of Nagpur and Vidarbha so that they don’t have to go to Delhi or Mumbai for the same by spending a lot of money.
During the press conference, Gajbhiye expressed gratitude towards Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar, Anil Deshmukh, R R Patil, State Party President Bhaskar Jadhav and Executive President Jitendra Avhad for his nomination. He also thanked his well wishers and party workers for their support.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has nominated the versatile Dalit leader Prakash Gajbhiye, who is popular among members of all communities as well, as MLC from Nagpur. He has been nominated for a term of six years. Prakash Gajbhiye is presently a Corporator representing VNIT Ward- 54 (A) in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). He is also State President of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Cell of NCP.
