MNLU Nagpur All-Girls Team Wins Best Negotiation Advocacy Award at Vienna Competition

Nagpur: Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Nagpur has a reason to celebrate as its all-girls team clinched the “Best Negotiation Advocacy” Award at the 9th IBA-VIAC CDRC Mediation and Negotiation Competition 2024. The event took place in Vienna, Austria, from July 5th to 10th.

The winning team comprised Meenal Maheshwari and Aparimita Tiwari from the 5th year B.A.LLB (Hons.), and Yukta Chordia and Chinmayi Patil from the 4th year B.A.LLB (Hons.). They stood out among 42 global university teams, showcasing exceptional negotiation advocacy skills and bringing international recognition to their university. This victory underscores MNLU Nagpur’s commitment to excellence in legal education.

In the previous year, the same team secured the 5th Rank, Best Mediation Plan, and Cultural Award at the ICC Asia Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition 2023, demonstrating their consistent excellence.

Their coach, Pascal Comvalius, played a pivotal role in their success, providing expert guidance and mentorship, for which the students expressed deep gratitude.

The IBA VIAC CDRC Mediation & Negotiation Competition is a premier global event that focuses on international commercial mediation and negotiation. Held annually in Vienna, it offers students a platform to enhance their skills through moot competitions, pre-moot conferences, workshops, and networking opportunities. This year’s competition featured 28 negotiator teams and 14 mediator teams.

These accomplishments reflect MNLU Nagpur’s dedication to preparing its students for global challenges and fostering leadership in the field of law.
