The DPIIT-IPR Chair & CIPR, MNLU, Nagpur conducted the program under the dynamic leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, MNLU, Nagpur.
Dr.Ragini P. Khubalkar, Head of DPIIT-IPR Chair and Associate Professor of Law, MNLU, Nagpur welcomed participants to the session and briefly introduced the theme of the workshop conducted by the DPIIT-IPR Chair which included the detail procedure of patent filing in India.
Adv. Gaurav PhadnisAssociate Partner, Patent & TM Attorney, LexOrbisinteracted with the participants and elucidated on the ‘Patent Filing in India’. His session explained about theprior art, inventive step, industrial application, search and provisional specification and complete specification of an invention. He emphasized the importance of Prior Art and further elaborated the procedure for filing a patent application.
The attendees engaged in participatory discourse, with Adv. Gaurav Phadnis providing answers to all of their inquiries. He went on to briefly discuss other crucial points including subject matter, protection, and the need of patent applications. Additionally, he went over the specifics of the Indian patent application process.
Furthermore, he emphasised the due diligence necessary for designing a patent-centric invention disclosure form. He enlightened certain check points needed for startupsand the grounds of absolute refusal.
The workshop was registered by 128 participants from all over India. The workshop was conducted in virtual mode and moderated by Ms. Shweta Kulkarni and Ms. TruptiKokateResearch Assistants of DPIIT-IPR Chair, at MNLU, Nagpur.
