Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday said, “The coming times are favourable for Ayurveda. However, if we want to progress rapidly, we need to create a vision for the future of Ayurveda. There needs to be a synergy between Ayurveda and those who manufacture equipment and machinery. It is essential to develop a modern approach and digital infrastructure in Ayurveda. If this happens, people’s perception of Ayurveda will change,” Gadkari said.

Gadkari was speaking after inaugurating Shri Vishva Lecture Series, organised by the Shri Vishwavati Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre, in collaboration with the Shri Sadguru Vishwanath Maharaj Rukdikar Trust, at the Suresh Bhat Auditorium. Present at the event were Anandnath Maharaj, President of the Sadguru Vishwanath Maharaj Rukdikar Trust, Rajesh Kshirsagar, Executive Chairman of the State Planning Board, Dr. Jayant Deopujari, President of the Government of India’s Indian Medical System, and Suresh Sharma, Director of Baidyanath, among others.

Gadkari said, “Ayurveda and Yoga are great strengths of India. The entire world looks to us with expectation, mainly due to our rich culture, history, and heritage. The world is attracted to the ancient science we developed. Ayurveda, with treatments like Panchakarma and various medicines, has cured incurable diseases. There are institutions in the country doing commendable work in the field of Ayurveda, but much more effort is needed in research,” he stated.

The Union Minister further said, “For any patient, accurate diagnosis of the disease is crucial. Until the disease is diagnosed, the appropriate medicine cannot be determined. The quality of medicines is also very important. Good research is being conducted in every pathy (medical system). The therapies developed in Ayurveda are benefiting people,” he added.

“Ayurveda has medicines for cancer, asthma, and many stomach ailments, and positive results have been observed. Ayurveda is a symbol of the pride of Indian culture and history. Whether it is Yogic science, Ayurveda, or any other treatment method, acceptance takes time. Credibility is the greatest capital, and everyone must strive to earn and maintain it,” Gadkari emphasized.
