MSEB employee caught accepting Rs 4 k bribe

Nagpur: A team of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday, caught an employee of Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 4,000 near Manish Nagar T-point.

Accused Prashant Rameshwar Puri (40) had demanded Rs 5000 from a person who sought new electric meter for his house. Later, Puri settled for Rs 4,000 after due negotiations.

Subsequently the complainant filed a complaint against Puri with the ACB.

Following the verification of the compliant the ACB laid a trap near Manish Nagar T point on Wednesday and caught the MSEB official red handed while he was accepting the amount.

Accused MSEB employee has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC. Further details awaited.
