Nagpur: A senior technician of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) was assaulted by a power consumer in Hiranwar Layout, Jaitala, under the jurisdiction of MIDC Police Station.
The accused has been identified as Champalal Bante. According to police, Nitin Bante, a resident of Hiranwar Layout, complained of interruption in power supply at Jaitala office on Saturday evening. MSEDCL staff including Senior Technician Sukhdev Keram along with Mahendra Sonule and Gajanan More reached Bante’s house at Plot No. 28, Hiranwar Layout, Jaitala around 7 pm. The officials noticed that the connection of the wiring on the electric pole was loose. They climbed the pole and rectified the fault. But Nitin Bante’s father, Champalal Bante, started arguing with the MSEDCL staffers for no reason. He even abused them. When Sukhdev Keram asked him not to use abusive words, Champalal got angered and assaulted him.
