Nagpur: District Collector Ashwin Mudgal on Monday appealed all political parties to cooperate with district administration in implementing Model Code of Conduct that has come into force following announcement of Lok Sabha poll schedule on Sunday. Mudgal was speaking at the all-party meeting held at Collectorate on Monday.
“Voting for Nagpur and Ramtek Lok Sabha constituencies will be held on April 11 in the first phase. Notification for this will be issued on Monday, March 18. Last date for submission of nominations is March 25. Scrutiny of nomination forms will be done on March 26. Last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 28. Polling will be on Thursday, April 11 and counting of votes will be on May 23. The entire election process will be completed on Monday, May 27,” Mudgal stated.
The Returning Officer for Nagpur constituency will be District Collector Ashwin Mudgal while for Ramtek constituency, Additional District Collector Shrikant Phadke will be Returning Officer.
Mudgal further said that total polling stations in Nagpur constituency will be 2,037 spread over five Assembly constituencies – Nagpur South West, Nagpur South, Nagpur West, Nagpur North and Nagpur East.
In Ramtek constituency comprising Katol, Saoner, Hingna, Umred, Kamptee and Ramtek Assembly constituencies the number of polling stations will be 2345.
The all-party meeting was attended by Bandopant Tembhurne, Yuvraj Lade of Congress, Uttam Shevde of BSP, Arun Latkar, Rameshwar Charpe of CPI, Akash Khobragade of BSP, Dr Rajiv Potdar, Arvind Gajbhiye, Bhojraj Dumbe, Sanjay Tekade of BJP, Nitin Dhande of NCP, Shyam Kale, Arun Vankar of CPM, and other representatives of political parties.
