Muslim group extends support to Gadkari in Nagpur LS seat

Nagpur: All India Jamiatul Quresh Society (AIJQS), a social organisation of Quresh community, has decided to support Nitin Gadkari who is BJP’s candidate for Nagpur Lok Sabha seat. The organisation will be holding a campaign meeting for Gadkari on April 12 at Garib Nawaz Nagar ground, Abdul Gani Qureshi, President of the organisation, informed media persons at a press conference held at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan on Tuesday.

Bandu Talwekar, ex-Corporator of Shiv Sena conducted a meeting at the residence of Abdul Gani Qureshi, President of the organisation. Talwekar told the members that Gadkari would take measures to provide employment to the youngsters of the community, providing facilities of education to the people. He moved a proposal in the meeting extending support to Gadkari.

Abdul Gani Qureshi discussed it with the office-bearers and unanimously decided to vote for Gadkari in the upcoming polls. The organisation has declared that it would support Gadkari under the guidance of Ashish Jaiswal, Ramtek MLA and Bandu Talwekar.

Bashir Qureshi, Maharashtra President of All India Jamiatul Quresh, Adv Majid Qureshi (Malkapur), Mohammed Sabir Qureshi (Pulgaon) will address the public meeting to be held on April 12 in support of Gadkari.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari met and sought the blessings of Archbishop Elias Gonsalves at the SFS Cathedral on Tuesday. In his interaction, Gadkari spoke about how he lost a close friend to Covid after which he further stepped up efforts to provide relief to the affected in whatever way he could.

Former Mayor Rajesh Tambe mentioned the funds provided for cement roads and sewage lines in Martin Nagar, as well as the beautification of the graveyard at Jaripatka.

Gadkari paid homage to the late Archbishop Abraham. He also spoke about his plans on organic farming, eradicating petrol and diesel vehicles.

Former Vicar General Fr Jerome Pinto, Infant Jesus School Manager Fr Thomas Joseph, Secretary, Archdiocesan Board of Education (ABE) Fr Jayaprakash, assistant director, Nagpur Diocesan Media, Fr Jomise, Principal, St Michael’s School, Fr Julius Daniel rector, SFS Cathedral, Fr Sebasti Raj and vice president, BJP Minority Morcha Nagpur, Mark Hirekan were present.
