ADX_5068Nagpur News: Nagpur MP Vilas Muttemwar, in an effort to resolve various problems of Nagpur citizens, forwarded a series of demands to the visiting Minister of State for Railway Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary. The Minister was in Nagpur to inspect and review several development works and also inaugurated the Waiting Hall and an Elevator at Ajni Railway Station.

Speaking to Nagpur Today on the sidelines of the programme at Ajni Railway Station, Muttemwar said, “I have apprised the Minister of various problems being faced by the Nagpur commuters and urged him to take concrete measures to resolve them. I have also demanded the Minister to shift the Zonal Office, now functioning from Mumbai, to Nagpur. The Zonal Office in Nagpur would facilitate help in several ways. At present, the officials and other employees of Central Railway had to rush to Mumbai Zonal Office for all and sundry works of the interest of the passenger thus wasting the precious time which could be avoided by shifting the Zonal Office to Nagpur itself,” Muttemwar asserted.

The Nagpur MP further elaborated on his demands to the Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary and said, “I have demanded to bring the Nagpur Railway Station on par with the world standard and put the Station on the global map as the best Railway Station. Nagpur being the heart of the nation, geographically located at the center of country, is visited by thousands of passengers directly or indirectly (passengers of passing trains), the Railway Station deserves status of the world standard. Moreover, Nagpur is the Second Capital of Maharashtra. However, the city and the entire Vidarbha has been the victim of discrimination at the hands of the West Maharashtra leaders. Vidarbha is still the backward region even after becoming part of Maharashtra 53 years ago. I therefore, urged the Minister to develop Nagpur Railway Station on par with world standard and honour the great city of Nagpur,” Muttemwar said.
