Nagpur: The Nagpur police are still grappling with the perplexing case of the missing body of Sana alias Heena Khan, a 34-year-old functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Minority Cell. Despite a rigorous search operation spanning over three weeks, law enforcement has been unable to locate Sana Khan’s body. In a bid to unravel this mystifying case, authorities have extended their search efforts to include the Hiran and Narmada rivers. Collaborating with experts, investigators are now delving deeper into the circumstances surrounding the vanishing of the deceased’s body, as reported by a local English daily.

Sana Khan met a tragic end during a confrontation with her estranged husband, Pappu Sahu, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on August 2. The incident occurred around 9 am, with allegations that Sana’s body was disposed of after 10.30 pm the same day. Pappu Sahu, who has a history of two prior murder cases, has presented conflicting accounts of the events leading up to Sana Khan’s demise, raising doubts about his credibility in the eyes of the investigators.

The investigation has put forth three distinct theories, each shedding light on different aspects of the case:

Theory I: River disposal: Pappu Sahu initially claimed to have thrown Sana’s body into the Hiran river after her murder. The logical expectation was that the body would eventually surface downstream or be discovered along the riverbanks by residents. Despite comprehensive search efforts by the Nagpur Police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) along both the Hiran and Narmada rivers, the body remains elusive. Authorities are considering the possibility that the body might be stuck at riverbanks or has decomposed. There is also speculation that local wildlife, such as crocodiles, could have played a role in the disposal.

Theory II: Dismemberment: A new theory suggests that Sana’s body might have been cut into pieces and scattered into the river. Investigators propose that Sana’s body might have been at Pappu Sahu’s residence for an extended period (9.30 am to 10.30 pm), during which time it could have been gruesomely dismembered. This theory poses the challenge of retrieving scattered body parts that could have decomposed and gone unnoticed in the water.

Theory III: Deceptive intentions: Pappu Sahu’s statements have raised suspicions about his honesty. While he claimed to have disposed of Sana’s body in the river, he left her bag near a bridge. This inconsistency led authorities to question his motives. It’s possible that he intended to mislead investigators by creating the impression that the body was thrown into the river. The presence of the bag near the riverbank suggests an alternative means of disposal, such as burial or cremation, aimed at erasing potential evidence.

Authorities are now working diligently to identify potential locations in Madhya Pradesh based on the accused individuals’ phone locations on August 2. Untangling the web of manipulation woven by Pappu Sahu and his accomplices presents a formidable challenge for law enforcement. As the investigation continues, the Nagpur police are determined to peel back the layers of mystery surrounding the disappearance of Sana Khan’s body and ensure that justice is served.
