Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce Resumes New Member Enrollment

Nagpur: the executive committee of the Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), a leading organization representing 1.3 million traders in Vidarbha, held its third meeting at Hotel Dwarkamai near Ganeshpeth ST Bus Stand. The meeting was chaired by President Mr. Arjundas Ahuja.

During the meeting, Mr. Ahuja announced that the chamber had ceased enrolling new members for nearly eight years. However, in 2023, the appointed administrator resumed the enrollment of new members, for which the executive committee expressed their gratitude. Continuing this initiative, the chamber has launched a new membership campaign. At the meeting, Joint Secretary Mr. Rajwantpal Singh Tuli presented detailed information about 15 new members, all of whom were approved by the committee.

Furthermore, Mr. Ahuja informed the assembly that the chamber had conducted a special audit of the administrator’s entire tenure, from February 1, 2023, to April 2, 2024, with the approval of the members. The detailed audit report was presented to the attendees.

Vice President Mr. Swapnil Ahirkar provided an in-depth analysis of the audit report. He revealed that during the administrator’s tenure, the chamber generated an income of approximately ₹69 lakhs and incurred expenses of around ₹68 lakhs. The largest expenditure was nearly ₹48 lakhs on legal and professional fees, with travel expenses amounting to approximately ₹2.2 lakhs. After excluding the interest from fixed deposits, which ranged between ₹15 to ₹16 lakhs, the chamber faced an overall loss of approximately ₹60 to ₹65 lakhs due to the administrator’s appointment.

Secretary Mr. Sachin Puniani welcomed the new members and urged traders from Nagpur and Vidarbha to join the chamber in greater numbers. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Puniani.
