Nagpur: A Nagar Kirtan organised from Gurudwara in Baba Buddhaji Nagar to Gurudwara in Ramdaspeth in Nagpur marked the beginning of Parkash Parv (birth anniversary) of Guru Nanak Dev on Sunday.
Sikh brethren of all age groups participated in the procession with traditional zeal. Volunteers demonstrating self-defence skills during the procession. The Panj Pyares led the procession that started from Baba Buddhaji Nagar and culminated at Gurudwara in Ramdaspeth. Sikhs participated in Nagar Kirtan in large numbers and offered Sewa throughout the route. Daredevil Khalsas demonstrated self-defence skills while a band group played traditional tunes.
The Nagar Kirtan was greeted with showers of flowers at many places across the city. Recitation of ‘Gurbani’ and ‘Ardas’ at Gurudwara Shri Teg Bahadur Sahib at Baba Budhaji Nagar early in the morning. Shri Guru Granth Sahib was placed on the chariot that was decorated beautifully with flowers.
