Nagpur: 3,101 Traffic Offenders Booked in 7 Months, Rs 1.94 Crore Fine Collected

Traffic Department Cancels 1,530 Driving Licences Until July 31

Nagpur: The Regional Traffic Office (RTO) of Nagpur city booked 3,101 motorists and collected Rs 1.94 crore in fines for traffic rule violations over the past seven months. From January 1 to July 31, the Traffic Department also canceled the driving licenses of 1,530 motorists for three months.

The canceled licenses mean these offenders cannot use their vehicles on roads for three months. If they violate the rule again, they face a Rs 10,000 fine and permanent cancellation of their driving licenses.

Among two-wheeler riders, the most common violations included not wearing headgear, overspeeding, driving under the influence, jumping traffic signals, and having defective number plates.
