Nagpur cops rescue “kidnapped” minor girl from Uttar Pradesh

Nagpur: The Anti-Human Trafficking Squad of Nagpur Police rescued a teenage girl who had gone missing and also detained a youth who had married with the girl.

Jaripatka police had received a complaint that the 17-year old girl was reportedly kidnapped by some unidentified person on July 15, 2022. Subsequently, the probe was handed over to Anti-Human Trafficking Squad of Crime Branch. After a painstaking investigation, the squad came to know that the missing girl was at a village in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. The cops went to the house and confronted a youth named Pravesh Singh Ramesh Singh at his house. Cops found the minor girl at his. The girl told the squad that she has married Pravesh Singh.

The police brought both the youth and the girl to Nagpur and handed them over to Jaripatka police for further course of action.

The job was done by PI Nanda Mangate, API Gajanan Chambhare, PSI Balram Zadokar, constables Dnyaneshwar Dhoke, Manish Paraye, Rajendra Atkale, Sunil Wakde, NPC Sharif Sheikh, Woman Police Sepoys Arti Chauvan, Pallavi Wanjari under the guidance of Additional CP (Crime) Navinchandra Reddy and DCP (Detection) Chinmay Pandit.
