Nagpur couple dupes 12 persons of Rs 68 lakh on pretext of Railway jobs

Nagpur: Wathoda Police have booked a couple for duping 12 persons of Rs 68 lakh by promising them jobs in Indian Railways. The accused couple has not been arrested so far.

The accused have been identified as Ashish Pradip Goswami and Kavita Ashish Goswami, both residents of Plot No 232, Milind Nagar, Wathoda.

According to police, the couple impersonated themselves as senior officials of Central Railway and promised the 12 persons jobs of Class IV in 2019. A total of Rs 68 lakh were collected by the accused from the victims. The cops were investigating many such complaints against the accused couple and are also checking their past records. After waiting for the jobs for almost three years, the victims finally realised the fraud.

On the basis of complaint lodged by Shekhar Dashrath Borkar (27), a resident of Ward No. 1, Panchasheel Nagar, Kanhan, and 11 others, the police have registered a case under Sections 420 406, 465, 467, 468, 471 of the IPC and probing the matter.
