Nagpur Crime Branch busts gambling den in Gittikhadan; cash, goods worth Rs 21.43 lakh seized

Nagpur: Unit 2 of Nagpur Crime Branch on Sunday night busted a gambling den running near Beg Farm House under Gittikhadan Police Station. Besides arresting 12 gamblers, cops have seized cash, vehicles and other goods collectively worth Rs 21.43 lakh.

According to police sources, the sleuths of the Crime Branch received secret information regarding some people engaged in gambling activities in a tent near Beg Farm House on Sunday night. At around 2 am, cops led by PI Shubhangi Deshmukh, API Gajanan Chambhare, PSI Raut, Police Constable Shailesh Jambhulkar, Mahendra Sadmake, Deepak Chole, Police Naik Arjun Yadav, Dinesh Davare, Sandeep Changole, Sunil Kuvar, Praveen Shelke and Police Amaldar Sandeep Pande, Aashish Dhandar, Praveen Chavhan raided the premises and rounded up 12 accused.

The accused were identified as Sunil Rammu Patel (40), a resident of Mahalaxmi Nagar, Kishor Madhukarao Meghare (53), a resident of Aakhada Chowk, Wardha Road, Ranjeet Rau (54), a resident of Panchashil Nagar, Mayur Thaware (36), a resident of Hivari Nagar, Sanjay Moharale (47), a resident of Rambagh, Harish Khilwani (56), a resident of MIG Colony, Dharampaal Dhamke (42), a resident of Somalwada, Ghanshyam Sadhwani (51), a resident of Diya Apartment, Jaripatka, Saurabh Bawane (21), a resident of Maskasath, Navin Suresh Gaur (29), a resident of Hansapuri, Hitesh Karwade (34), have been arrested by the cops. The accused, Ganesh Chacherkar (35), is absconding.
