Nagpur: —At approximately 12:30 PM today August 3, a tragic accident occurred on Haldiram Road near Besa Chowk in front of Tilt Restaurant. The incident involved a 14-wheeler truck and a two-wheeler, leading to the death of a 26-year-old woman named Priyanka Ashish Mankar, a resident of Panjara, Koradi.
Priyanka was riding pillion on a scooter (MH 40 AR 5677) driven by her brother, Yogesh Aware, also a resident of Koradi. As they were heading towards Besa Chowk, their vehicle was struck by a 14-wheeler truck (MH 40 CR 34 3403) driven by Mohammad Irshad Pathan, 32, from Shivni, Madhya Pradesh. The rear wheel of the truck collided with their scooter, causing the fatal accident.
Police from Beltarodi police station promptly arrived at the scene, apprehending the truck driver and taking the vehicle into custody. Priyanka was rushed to Nagpur Police Medical Hospital for treatment but was declared dead during treatment.
The accused driver, Mohammad Irshad Pathan, has been arrested and further legal action is being taken.
