Nagpur: A 24-year-old man, Shubham Omprakash Jamgade, was duped of ₹2,50,000 by cyber scammers who lured him with a fake task on Telegram, promising weekly earnings of ₹12,000. The fraudsters, who added him to a group on August 6, initially provided benefits to gain his trust before asking him to deposit money into various bank accounts.

When Shubham inquired about his profits, the scammers denied him any returns and assigned a new task instead. Realizing he had been cheated, Shubham filed a complaint with Jaripatka police station. The incident highlights the growing concern of cyber fraud in the city.
