Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Enforcement Department conducted a series of operations today on July 5 targeting unauthorized constructions across the city.
In Dharampeth Zone No. 02, a significant operation took place at Neuron Hospital, located at 53, opposite the Police Station on RD Road, Dhantoli, Ramdaspeth. The NMC demolished approximately 900 square meters of illegal construction. The operation will continue tomorrow to address the remaining unauthorized structures.
In Dhantoli Zone No. 04, the enforcement team targeted unauthorized constructions from the zone office to ShuArtech Hospital on 13A Banerjee Road. Three illegally built rooms in the parking area were demolished. The operation could not be completed due to the extensive nature of the illegal constructions, and further action will be taken in the coming days.
Additionally, enforcement actions were taken against vendors selling tobacco, cigarettes, and other products near 1) Dhanwate National College, 2) Shivaji Science College, and 3) New English High School. These vendors were operating illegally, and their goods were confiscated by the police.
In another operation in Dharampeth Zone No. 02, the NMC removed illegal stalls and shops from both sides of the road and footpath from the zone office to Sadar Ring Road to Gaddigodam. Approximately one illegal stall was confiscated.
Similarly, in Gandhi Bagh Zone No. 06, the NMC took action against illegal encroachments from the zone office to Bhagwa Ghar Chowk, Golibar Chowk, and Nanga Putla Chowk. Illegal stalls and shops on both sides of the road and footpath were removed.
These operations were conducted under the guidance of Mr. Harish Raut, Assistant Commissioner of the Encroachment Department, Mr. Prakash Varade, Assistant Commissioner of Dharampeth Zone, and Mr. Sanjay Kamble, Enforcement Superintendent. The actions were carried out by Mr. Bhaskar Malwe and Mr. Manohar Rathod, Deputy Engineers of the Encroachment Team.
The NMC’s crackdown on unauthorized constructions and illegal vendors is part of its ongoing efforts to maintain order and ensure public safety in Nagpur. Further operations are expected in the coming days.
