Nagpur City Police have taken swift action against various crimes, including liquor prohibition, gambling, and drunken driving. On July 16, 2024, five individuals were arrested in five separate cases, with Rs 4,675 seized under the Maharashtra Liquor Prohibition Act and NDPS Act. Additionally, two persons were charged under the Gambling Act, with Rs 2,015 seized.
The Traffic Branch Police fined 3,481 motorists a total of Rs 5,99,500 for various violations under the Motor Vehicle Act.
In other cases, a house burglary was reported at Ganeshpeth Police Station, with stolen goods worth Rs 7,99,500. A fraud case was registered at Gittikhadan Police Station, involving a plot scam worth Rs 42 lakh. A sudden death case was also reported at Wadi Police Station, where a scooty accident resulted in a fatality.
