Nagpur: In a significant action against the land mafia, Nagpur Police have unearthed a gang involved in selling land using bogus documents in the Second Capital of the State. Besides arresting the accused, Nagpur Police have slapped the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act against them.
According to police sources, complainant Nisha Rajkumar Jajoo (63), a resident of Navjeevan Colony, Gajanan Nagar, Ajni, was taken aback when her CA told her that her 3,000 square feet plot appeared to be sold to one Imam Khan Abdul Rahul Khan (33), who is one of the accused.
Following this, she filed a police complaint. During the investigation, cops found that some miscreants reportedly used fake documents and sold Jajoo’s land to Khan for Rs 5 lakh.
During the investigation, cops found out about a syndicate involving accused Khan, Pawan Kumar Jangela (34), Manish Nagar, Narayan Verma (40), a resident of Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, Pratibha Meshram, a resident of Umred who impersonated Jajoo while transferring the plot, and others who used bogus documents to sell land in Nagpur.
Following the arrest of all the accused, Nagpur Police have also slapped them with MCOCA.
