Nagpur Premier Cricket League 2024: Advocates’ Cricket Tournament Set to Thrill in October

Nagpur: For the past three years, Advocate Dharamraj Bogati and his committee at the Nagpur District Court have been organizing a leather ball cricket tournament for the legal fraternity of Maharashtra. This year, the player auction took place on July 6, 2024, at Hotel Heritage Civil Lines. Advocate Tushar Sinha received the highest bid. He practices law in Mumbai.

The tournament features advocates from Maharashtra who have played in Ranji and Ghazdar matches, including Advocate Armaan Sheikh, Ninad Mujumdar, Jayaraj God, Ajay Shitole, Bharat Raskar, and Mukund Jaju, all representing Advocate India. Additionally, Vibhas Tuknikar, a renowned cricketer from Maharashtra, will participate.

This year, around 250 players registered, out of which 160 were selected through the auction to form eight teams. The matches will be broadcast live on YouTube. Last year’s tournament attracted 1500 live viewers from the legal community.

The eight teams are:

1. Advocate Nagpur, owned by Advocate Prakash Jaiswal
2. Nyaymandir 11, owned by Nitin Telgote
3. OTP Warriors, owned by Mohammad Atiq
4. Thakur Challengers, owned by Vivek Singh Thakur
5. Nagpur Hunters, owned by Nilesh Janged
6. Satpuda Spartans, owned by Dheeraj Chavan
7. Jijau Warriors, owned by Santosh Waghmare and Sunil Deshmukh
8. NW United Mar Mar Viks, owned by Vinayak Sir

The matches will be held at various grounds in Nagpur from October 25 to October 29, 2024. The event is organized by Advocate Dharamraj Bogati and his committee, with sponsorship from Advocate Nitin Telgote, Advocate Anil Gulhane, Ranjan Deshpande, Advocate Abhay Jikar, and the Nagpur Hunters team.
