65th Dr Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Divas was observed by R. S. Mundle Dharampeth College. On the occasion, the principal Dr Tanuja Nafade presided over the program and the speaker Shruti Shyamkule delivered a key-note talk. Shruti Shyamkule in her speech said that Dr B. R. Ambedkar brought in a sea change and paradigm shift in the structural life of the country with his role played in drafting the constitution of India. He heralded a new era of the democratic way of life with the values enshrined in the constitution encompassing every aspect of the country.
She also highlighted that the relevance of his doctorate thesis from the London School of Economics titled ” Problems of Rupees” in today’s contemporary world shows his erudition and visionary outlook. He was the driving force behind the establishment of autonomous institutions.
In her presidential speech, Dr Nafade shed light on his ideological upbringing saying that the legacy of his thoughts must be preserved to bring about the development of the country. The trinity of fraternity, equality and liberty asserted by Dr Ambedkar should be guiding principles in policy-making.
Vice-principal Dr Mohan Nagrale, Dr Shrinivash Manekar and other dignitaries were present on the dais. Dr Vinod Jiwantare conducted the program and Dr Satish Chafle proposed the vote of thanks.
Prof Humendra Khandekar, Dr Mangesh Pathak and volunteers of NSS strove hard to make the program successful.
