Nagpur citizens breathed a sigh of relief as the city received 28 mm of rainfall on Tuesday, bringing much-needed respite from the humid weather that had been plaguing the city since the first fortnight. The sky remained overcast throughout the day, with light to moderate rains showering the city at intervals.
The rainfall not only brought relief to the citizens but also led to a drop in humidity, which was recorded at 82% in the evening. The night temperature, however, remained above average.
Other districts in the region also received significant rainfall, including Gadchiroli (70.2 mm), Yavatmal (51.1 mm), Akola (32.3 mm), Buldhana (32.0 mm), Wardha (30.4 mm), Amravati (15.8 mm), Chandrapur (11.6 mm), Gondia (13.6 mm), and Washim (5.0 mm).
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, a cyclonic circulation has formed over south Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Madhya Pradesh, while a low-pressure area is in the process of formation, indicating more rainfall in the coming days.
