Nagpur: The Second Capital of the State recorded its lowest minimum temperature of the season at 12.8 degrees Celsius on Friday morning.
The minimum temperature dropped in other parts of Vidarbha as well. Gondia, with 12.2 degrees Celsius, recorded the lowest minimum temperature of the season in all over Maharashtra on Friday.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the minimum temperature will settle at 11 to 13 degrees Celsius all over Vidarbha in the coming week whereas the minimum will drop further below 10 degrees in the last week of December.
According to the Weather Department, the lowest minimum temperature of the season, likely to be marked below 8 degrees in Nagpur, will be recorded in the last week of December and the first week of January.
The winter chill is back in the city due to the absence of moisture in the atmosphere that was created all over Central India due to the cyclone that happened in the Bay of Bengal last month. The northerly winds also became a major factor for the chill in the region.
