Nagpur: In the current set of medical treatment a very significant fact, yet a peculiar trend is being observed in terms of diseases. A simple disease has been showing multiple patterns as currently seen in the outbreak of chikan guniya in Nagpur region. Taking this growing concern into account, different line of medical treatments are being adapted in sync with latest technology in medical science. However, not all practitioners are duly updated with day to day changing course pf treatment. The physicians and surgeons, particularly those practising in hinterlands often remain aloof of the right course of effective treatment.
To combat this emerging concern, the Vidarbha Chapter of the Association of Physicians of India (API), in partnership with Midas Hospital, Nagpur under the aegis of Midas Medical Foundation & Research Institute, has announced the upcoming Regional CME on GI & Medicine Updates 2024 on 28th and 29th September 2024. The two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) event will be held at Hotel Le Meridian, Nagpur and Midas Hospital and will focus on the latest advancements and best practices in the field of Gastroenterology and Medicine.

The clinical CME will be Led by Organizing Chairperson Dr. Shrikant Mukewar, Organizing Secretary Dr. Saurabh Mukewar, and Dr. Bhushan Bhavare, along with Scientific Chairperson Dr. Sharad Deshmukh, API President Dr. Nikhil Balankhe, AP| Secretary Dr. Sudhir Chafle and Scientific Co-Chairperson Dr. Ramesh Mundle. The agenda of the CME has been curated to add a clinical value in every healthcare professional’s day to day practices as well as to deepen their understanding of best treatments, procedures, and technologies available for Early Diagnosis and safer medications.
Speaking at the press conference the Organising Chairperson Dr. Shrikant Mukewar said, “The CME on Gl & Medicine Updates 2024 will encompass the variety of critical topics and interesting case studies to be presented by the Eminent Speakers across the medical fraternity to help the budding medical professionals learn about the practical approach towards comprehensive medical and surgical treatment modalities available in the field of GI & Medicine.” He added that over 900 registrations have already been accomplished while more than 300 practitioners are expected to physically participate in the event.
Organizing Secretary Dr. Saurabh Mukewar said that the initiative is aimed at updating the physicians on latest advancements in medical treatments. He said, “This is about bringing awareness among the physicians around the region that many advance treatments are now available in Nagpur only, so the patients need not to move to other big cities for treating their diseases.” He also added that the conference would be helpful to the physicians as the data and evidences taken from the case studies will be exposed to the participants, which would eventually help them a great deal in giving effective treatment to their patients.
The event has been specially designed keeping in mind the interest of specialists from various fields like Intensive care, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and General Medicine & Surgery who will surely benefit by gaining the knowledge about this fast-evolving field. The CME offers 4 MMC credit points for attending professionals, ensuring that participation contributes to their ongoing professional development.
API President Dr. Nikhil Balankhe said, “One of the key focuses of the event is fostering a collaborative and interactive learning environment.
