Nagpur: In a press conference held on Friday, Ram Karan Yadav, the General Manager of the Central Railway Zone, provided crucial updates on the ongoing infrastructure projects and addressed various aspects of railway development in the region.

GM Yadav announced that the Nagpur World Class Station is scheduled to be completed by December 2025. However, he acknowledged a slight delay in the construction process, primarily attributed to the interference caused by an old pipeline owned by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation within the station premises. The Railway Land Development Authority is overseeing this project, and GM Yadav assured that all efforts will be made to overcome the pipeline-related issues and ensure the timely completion of the world-class station.

The General Manager also mentioned that the Ajni World Class Station is expected to be finished by May 2026. No significant delays or issues were reported for this project during the press conference.

GM Yadav highlighted the high demand for a new train service between Nagpur and Pune due to a substantial number of passengers travelling between these two cities. Central Railway is committed to carefully evaluating all aspects before taking necessary steps to address this demand effectively.

The Vande Bharat train is currently experiencing substantial demand nationwide. In response to this, GM Yadav announced that a proposal will be submitted to the Railway Board to extend the Vande Bharat train services to operate between Nagpur and Secunderabad. This move aims to cater to the increasing demand and enhance connectivity in the region.

GM Yadav made these announcements during a meeting at the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) office while conducting a safety inspection tour in the Badnera-Nagpur railway section of the Central Railway’s Nagpur Division. The press conference was attended by Manish Aggarwal, the Divisional Railway Manager of Central Railway’s Nagpur Division, and other senior officers from the Zone and Division.

These updates indicate the Central Railway Zone’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and meeting the rising demands for railway services in the region. The proactive approach towards addressing delays and considering new train services demonstrates a strategic vision for the development of the railway network under GM Ram Karan Yadav’s leadership.

Delays may still affect railways:

Despite the implementation of fog detectors in every train across the country, it is important to note that trains may still experience delays. GM Yadav clarified that the purpose of these detectors is to enhance visibility for trains, allowing them to better perceive signals ahead. Consequently, trains will be able to proceed on the track at a reduced speed compared to usual.

Probe into death of Sunil Nitanvare

GM Yadav, in response to the query raised by a local daily about the unfortunate incident of train controller Sunil Nitanvare’s death during a wrist operation at the railway hospital in January, stated that an investigation is currently underway. He further mentioned that the investigation is expected to be concluded within the next month.
