Nagpur: Dolly Chaiwala, the tea seller from Nagpur, has become an overnight sensation after a video of him serving tea to Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates went viral on social media. In a recent interview to a news agency, Dolly opened up about his unexpected encounter with Gates, expressing his surprise at not recognizing the tech mogul initially.
Dolly revealed that he was completely unaware of Bill Gates’ identity when he served him tea. Mistaking Gates for a foreign visitor, Dolly thought it was only courteous to offer him a cup of tea. It was only after returning to Nagpur the next day that he realized the magnitude of his unique customer.

“We did not speak at all. He was standing just beside me, and I was busy with my work. After sipping on my tea, he (Bill Gates) said, ‘Wow, Dolly Ki Chai,'” shared the humble tea seller.
When asked about his distinctive outfit, Dolly explained that he borrowed his style from South Indian movies that he enjoys watching. This revelation adds a personal touch to his story, showcasing how inspiration can come from unexpected sources.

Originally planned to be filmed in Nagpur, where Dolly’s tea stall is located, the shoot was unexpectedly moved to Hyderabad. Dolly was invited to showcase his signature tea-making style but was unaware of Bill Gates’ involvement in the project until later.
