Nagpur: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), in association with Shri Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal, will celebrate International Yoga Day programme on June 21 at Kasturchand Park in Nagpur, informed Rajeev Agrawal, CGM and Regional Officer, NHAI in a press conference. This year, Nagpur has been selected amongst 75 iconic sites of the country by the Ministry of Ayush for ‘International Yoga Day’ as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ year.
The theme of the programme is ‘Yoga for Humanity’. The iconic sites, 75 in India and 75 overseas with the movement to Sun in 16 time zones, will perform Yoga at the same time. It will be telecast on DD India throughout the World.
In Nagpur, the event will start at 5.30 am with an address by Rambhau Khandwe Guruji, President of Shri Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Shipping will also address the participants. The national address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be shown virtually from 6.40 am to 7 am. The mass yoga demonstration will be held from 7 am to 7.40 am.
Officials of Nagpur Municipal Corporation(NMC), Nagpur Collectorate, South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), all Government and semi-government organisations, NCC cadets, NSS cadets, school and college students will participate in the yoga demonstration.
Rambhau Khandwe Guruji; Naresh Vadetwar, GM (Tech), NHAI; Satish Janwe, GM (Tech); N L Yeotkar, GM (T&PD) and Milind Wazalwar, Secretary, Shri Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal were also present in the press conference.
