Nagpur: Arjun Awardee and Olympic player Atanu Das inaugurated the Residential Archery Summer Camp organised by Ojas Foundation in Nagpur on Tuesday. Ojas Foundation is established by world champion and Asian champ archer Ojas Pravin Deotale.
The camp is being run at Gumgaon, in Hingna taluka of Nagpur. In the camp, participants have come from different parts of India — including Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
The newly formed Ojas Foundation will take up the responsibility to prepare champion archers in the state-of-the-art training camp for archers by honing their skills The archery residential camp, which got underway on Apr 28, will end on May 7 at Gumgaon in Hingna tehsil.
Atanu Das said, “I have never seen this type of versatile camp. It is an India-level camp and I appreciate the objectives of Ojas Foundation.” Das and World Cup Stage Winner Prathamesh Javakar discussed with all the participants and taught them new techniques in archery.
Champion Ojas Deotale explained the mission and vision of Ojas Foundation. He added that his foundation would provide an innovative system and the latest technology. The foundation provided bow and arrows to 9 participants. Coach Pravin Sawant is guiding the participants in the 10-day residential camp.
