Nagpur’s Tanmay to represent India in Swimming World Cup

Nagpur : Tanmay Rupesh Kahate from Nagpur is among the 10 swimmers selected to represent India in the International Bi-Fins Swimming World Cup 2018, scheduled to be held in Phuket city in Thailand from 20 to 24 September 2018. Tanmay will compete in 50-meter Bi-Fins Underwater World Cup International. 16-year-old Tanmay comes from the rural area of Kamptee-Kanhan and is a student of BKCP School.

Swimmers from 21 countries will be participating in the world cup. Tanmay will fly from Nagpur to Mumbai on September 18 and will further have a Mumbai to Thailand flight the same night.

Tanmay had participated in the practice workshop of the Indian team held in Bhopal. He has been practicing twice a day under the guidance of his coach Yogesh Khobragade at Nagpur District Training Centre, Kamgar Kalyan Swimming Pool, and Anurag Swimming Club in Kamptee.

Advocate Ishwar Charlewar, Suresh Bhoyar, his school teachers, and district sports officer Avinash Pund have congratulated Tanmay on his selection in the Indian squad.
