Nagpur: Yashasvi Kubde, a student of Ira International School, Nagpur, has been selected in the West Zone Hockey team for the 1st Hockey India Sub-Junior Women’s Inter-Zone Championship which will be held in Narwana, Haryana, from September 1 to 7.
Yashasvi, playing as a forward, will compete with her 18-member team in Pool B against teams from South Zone, SAI Shakti, and an Academy. Yashasvi, who is coached by Shahid Bux, recently participated in the 2nd Hockey India Women’s West Zone National Championship and was picked for the zonal camp held at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune.

Total 24 players from western states (11 from Madhya Pradesh, six from Chhattisgarh, five from Maharashtra, and two from Gujarat) were selected for the camp held earlier this month.
West Zone’s matches are as follows: Sept 1: against Academy; Sept 2: Against South Zone; Sept 4: Against SAI Shakti. If they qualify from their pool, they will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for September 6.
