Narrow escape for St. Ursula students as truck hits school bus in Nagpur

The students of St Ursula Girls High School had a narrow escape when the school bus they were travelling in was dashed by a truck on Thursday, (August 29).

According to reports, the school bus (MH-31/CQ 1566), driven by Vinod Sakharam Khadse (29), resident near Gorewada Bus Stop was proceeding to school. When the bus reached Vrundavan Colony, near Bornala, a truck (MH-04/AG 8929) coming from opposite direction dashed the school bus from right side and turned down. The school bus driver received serious injuries and was rushed to Mayo Hospital. However, the school students had lucky escape as some of them received just minor injuries. The truck driver too was injured.

Both the vehicles got damaged by the impact. Gittikhadan police have booked the truck driver under Sections 279, 337, 427, of the IPC ans Sub-Sections 184, 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act. Police are investigating the matter further.

This is the second accident within 24 hours in the area. On Wednesday, three persons were killed and three others were seriously injured when the auto they were travelling in was rammed by a truck.
