Narrow Gauge conversion: All NG trains under SECR to cease from December 1

Under SECR railways Nagpur division the narrow gauge is being converted into broad gauge, so all trains will stop running w.e.f. December 1, 2015 on narrow gauge routes.

It may be mentioned that as per decision taken by rail administration under Nagpur division, the narrow gauge conversion work was undertaken. Accordingly, the NG trains, up/ down–Jabalpur-Nainpur were stopped w.e.f. 01.10.2015 during first phase while the NG trains–Nainpur-Chhindwara, Nainpur-Mandla Fort, Naipur-Balaghat and Nagpur-Chhindwara were to be stopped during second phase (w.e.f. 01.12.2015).

The conversion of gauge will provide better and faster service to passengers. The rail administration requests the state governments concerned to increase road transportation facilities until completion of the work of conversion of gauge, said a press note issued by Sr DCM, SECR, Nagpur.
