A young person from Nagpur approached a Nagpur-based hospital complaining about a stomachache. During a routine checkup, the doctors prescribed a blood test. The test results shocked both the doctors and the patient. His test for HIV came back positive!

Subsequently, the doctors began counselling him. It was during this counselling session that the youth revealed the events that led to his infection, resulting in the infection of over two dozen people.
He explained that a few months ago, while his friends, two of whom were from Nagpur and working in Pune, hired a prostitute for a night. They took turns satisfying their lust, unaware of the unknown threat lurking in the shadows.
The hospital doctors wasted no time in summoning the other youths, totalling seven. They all underwent tests, and each one tested positive for HIV.
The medical staff then counselled all the youths and discovered that, along with their female partners, over two dozen people had tested positive for HIV!
Once again, the doctors gained the trust of all those involved, provided counselling, initiated their medication, and informed the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
This alarming incident once again emphasizes the importance of protection while engaging in consensual sex. It is crucial not to misuse the freedom that youth enjoy during their studies and jobs to engage in practices that can harm their lives.
