Nagpur: The National OBC Mahasangh has submitted a memorandum to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde urging him to direct the concerned departments to issue caste validity certificates to OBC students at the earliest. In Maharashtra, for admissions in Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy, MBA and other courses, the students belonging to OBC category need caste validity certificate. Caste Validity Certificates of many OBC students are pending in the respective offices of the State Government, said the Sangh.
As the students from OBC community get the opportunity of education, the number of requests for caste validity certificates to the said department has increased. The concerned office is refusing to provide the caste validity certificate even after the students submit their necessary documents.
In this context, the National OBC Mahasangh said, a student Sanket Sakharam Kshirsagar of Taluka Ardhapur, District Nanded has written to the National OBC Federation that his provisional admission to the Engineering College has been cancelled due to non-receipt of caste certificate in time. Thus many OBC students are suffering academically.For this, the caste verification office should extend the deadline to provide justice to the OBC students.
The National OBC Mahasangh President Dr Babanrao Taywade, Joint Secretary Sharad Wankhede, President of OBC Youth Federation Subhash Ghate, State President of OBC Women Federation Kalpana Mankar, Rajesh Kakde, Shakeel Patel, Parmeshwar Raut, Raju Chaudhary, Rajesh Rahate, Vikrant Mankar have urged the State Chief Minister to direct the concerned department to issue caste validity certificate to OBC students at the earliest.
Joint Secretary Sharad Wankhede has said that the National OBC Mahasangh will launch an agitation against the injustice.
