Naxals torch 2 trucks, call for Gadchiroli bandh on May 10

Nagpur: Naxals torched two trucks near Gatta area and also called for a bandh in Gadchiroli district on May 10 to protest the killing of their 40 cadres in the two encounters at Boriya-Kasnasur and Nainer forests.

According to police, three people in civil clothes stopped the trucks late on Tuesday night and set them on fire.
The vehicles were carrying the logs of wood from the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM).

The trio fled the spot after the incident, police said, adding that some Naxal-related material like pamplets, red banners declaring the bandh in the district on May 10.

An offence was registered against them, police said.
