Nagpur: Neelima has been involved in hundreds of hours of programming on BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, ITV, Norwegian, French, German, American, Canadian, Indian and Japanese TV channels.It has been an extraordinary journey of discovery, challenges and achievements.
Some of her work includes, Victorian Sex traveller – awidely acclaimed and awarded BBC documentary, Gulabi Gang.
An insatiable thirst for travel and discovery led Neelima Goel to the world of film making.
For Gulabi Gang she spent months – documenting the inspiring life of Sampat Pal and gritty grassroots, uneducated, low caste women’s gang in the mean badlands of UP. She has also made Terrorism –filmed in the late 70’s and 80’s during peak terrorism in Punjab and Kashmir. Copies of these documentaries were requested for by Punjab Police, RAW, Indian Army, International Red Cross and Amnesty International.
On the sunny side, Neelima was associated with Indian Serials like Amma and Family and Zindagi Kitni Khubsoorat Hai starring the irrepressible and hugely talented Zohra Segal. Thoda sa Aasman with Deepti Naval,Kashmakash starring Javed Jaffrey and scripted by the Pakistani writer Hasina Moin, National Award winning filmAmu with Konkana Sen, Mira Nair’s Namesake starring Tabu and Irrfan Khan, Aishwarya Rai starrer Bride and Prejudice, to name a few.
