Nagpur News : A government resolution (GR) regarding the project ‘Advantage Vidarbha’ was released on February 5. Taking further step in this regard, names of government and private bodies were proposed on Thursday. These bodies prominently include MIDC, MADC, CIDKO, MTDC and MHADA. This was informed by District Guardian Minister Shivajirao Moghe on Thursday, in a press conference.
Moghe further said that many national and international companies will take part in the programme organized under the project ‘Advantage Vidarbha’ on February 25 and 26. According to the GR, discussion on Information Technology, Auto Engineering, Power Equipments, Coal industries, Tourism department, textile industries etc will be held during the event. And, implementable suggestions will be taken into consideration. He said that the event management team is working hard to attract foreign companies and NRI to invest in this project.
It is noted that Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Industries Minister Narayan Rane, and many other political bigwigs will attend the programme.
To promote the project, a meeting of major textile industries and other industries will be conducted at New Delhi under the leadership of Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel. Meanwhile, a MoU of Rs 15,000 crore is prepared for the same. But, FICCI in association with MIDC and VIA is working hard to extract even more amount for the project.
Moghe has appealed WCL, MOIL, IBM, MECL and other Government and Government undertaking bodies to invest and involve into this project. Moghe further added that FICCI has earlier conducted a meeting in Nagpur. A committee under the Chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner B V Gopala Reddy was formed to introspect the functioning of the project. Moghe said that State Government will invest Rs 1 crore for the project while he appealed other companies of city.
It is mentioned that ‘Advantage Vidarbha’ will offer a brighter future to Vidarbhites and will open new avenues of prosperity. Vidarbha will get immense profit from the policies made for textile industries since Vidarbha is rich in flora and fauna. Meanwhile, obstacles in Mihan project are expected to clear till the end of March this year. Noted industrialist Rahul Bajaj, Pendarkar from Vicco Group, and Haldiram Group are invited for the project.
Divisional Commissioner B V Gopala Reddy, Collector Sourabh Rao, NIT Chairman Pravin Darade, NMC Commissioner Shyam Wardhane were present prominently at the press conference.
