Anand Bhandar, the almost venerable, old Bengali Sweet Shop of Nagpur had sprouted a food joint sixteen years ago in Dharampeth, that had become as popular with youngsters as their ‘Roshgullas’ with elders. This was the veg and non-veg restaurant called ‘Bula’s Kitchen’ that operated on the first floor over Anand Bhandar. People flocked there for their momos and Mughlai parathas.
The same fare is being served now from their new outlet in Khamla square.
“Our patrons had humongous parking problems in Dharampeth. Forget 4 wheelers, even two wheelers couldn’t find parking. This limitation was hampering the growth of our customers, we were getting mostly repeat customers. At this new place there is ample parking and we are seeing many new customers, beside old customers also not finding it too far.”
Their Mughlai parathas with many choice of veg and non veg stuffings are as popular here as before.
So is their Biryani.
We tried out their mutton curry, which was tasty, and well cooked; specially a treat for those who like their masalas and gravies to go with the crisp many layered ‘lachcha paratha’.
It is being liked by local people and is attracting many passerbys too, since it was full at lunch time, though dinner was their peak business time in Dharampeth.
