Nagpur: The Nagpur Division of Central Railway will launch a weekly new train to Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh from September 4, 2023. Prior to the formal launch of the train, it will have an inaugural run on August 29. The online and counter bookings will start from August 30.
The 11201 Nagpur-Shahdol Express will leave Nagpur at 11.45 am every Monday and reach Shahdol at 12.20 am on Tuesday. It will take around 13 hours to reach its destination.
Similarly, the 11202 Shahdol-Nagpur Express will leave Shahdol at 5 am every Tuesday from September 5, and reach Nagpur at 6.30 pm the same day. The stoppages of the train include Saunsar, Chhindwara, Seoni, Nainpur, Jabalpur, Katni, and Umaria.
The 20-coach train will have one AC-II coach, four AC-III, 11 sleeper classes, and six general second-class coaches.
Before the formal launch on September 4, the new train will run as a special train Shahdol-Nagpur (08287) on August 29. It will leave Shahdol at 1.30 pm and will reach Nagpur at 4 am on August 30.
“As there are limited bus services to Shahdol from Nagpur, the train will be beneficial to people travelling to MP. Besides, the train will be a good transport service for wildlife tourists visiting Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. The train stops at Umaria, from where Bandhavgarh is 27 km,” a railway official said.
