Nagpur News: Minister for Water Conservation and Employment Guarantee Scheme Nitin Raut Monday took a dig at Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan for displaying “special love for Pune”, while discussing the Pune Metro rail project at the Cabinet meeting. Raut said Chavan was ignoring the demand for a similar project in Nagpur.
The proposal for a revised route for the first phase of the Pune Metro project was approved by the Cabinet.

With Raut complaining of “stepmotherly treatment” to Vidarbha, Chavan was forced to commit that the Nagpur Metro proposal would be placed before the Cabinet within a fortnight.
Meanwhile, Home Minister R R Patil criticised the delay in tabling his department’s proposal to provide compensation to victims of crime. He asked Chief Secretary Jayant Kumar Banthia to look into the reason for the delay.
