Nagpur News: Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Enforcement Department cracked down heavily on encroachments in various parts of the city. In the major drive, the Enforcement Department squads hit the road between Mate Square and Pratap Nagar Cement road and removed encroachments including many “hath thelas”, (hand carts) selling mainly fruits and vegetables, demolished many sheds, seized various materials and recovered fines in Laxmi Nagar Zone.
Similarly, the Anti-Encroachment squad carried out its drive in Gandhibagh Zone. The roads between Badkas Chowk and Gandhi Statue and Bhavsar Square and Agrasen Square were cleared of encroachments. Many cloth shops, shoe shops, plastic material shops, and other shops were removed from footpaths.
The NMC’s Enforcement Department carried out anti-encroachment drives in Nehru Nagar Zone, Mangalwari Zone and removed and demolished dozens of encroachments mainly on the roads from Liberty Talkies to Sadar Police Station to Gittikhadan Police to MSEB Square. Many materials like furniture, wooden items, plastic items, and other materials were seized and appropriate fines were recovered from the encroachers.
