NMC issues notice to Dhantoli Zone Asst Commissioner for negligence

Nagpur: NMC Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari has initiated action against negligence in addressing citizen complaints. Pramod Wankhede, the Assistant Commissioner of the Dhantoli Zone, along with two other officials, has been issued a show-cause notice for ignoring citizens’ complaints.

There have been numerous complaints regarding clogged sewer lines in the Dhantoli Zone, but officials have continued to overlook the issue. Citizens are increasingly frustrated with the lack of attention to their concerns, leading to their dissatisfaction with the Municipal Corporation.

In response, the Municipal Commissioner has started taking action against the responsible officials. A show-cause notice has been issued to Assistant Municipal Commissioner Pramod Wankhede, Executive Engineer Anil Gedam, and Deputy Engineer Ashish Talewar for their inactivity. Additionally, departmental inquiries have been proposed against Deputy Engineer Prashant Sonkusare (Mangalwari Zone) and Pravin Kotangle (Gandhibagh Zone).

NMC Star Rating:

Under the citizen feedback system initiated by Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari in December, the administration received a 5-star rating for resolving complaints in 1,474 cases. Additionally, 547 cases were rated 4 stars, and 269 complaints received 3 stars. However, 1,217 citizens gave it a 1-star rating.

Review meeting on January 31:

Meanwhile, Chaudhari has called for a review meeting on January 31 with all zone heads and department officials. The meeting is expected to focus on further actions and improvements in the grievance redressal system.
