Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari on Monday inaugurated an updated ‘Chalo App’ that would now enable city bus users to ticketing on Aapli Buses through online mode.
The new systems are aimed at providing convenience to daily commuters, especially students. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) currently operates a fleet of approximately 380 Aapli buses on more than 100 routes.
To utilize the new service, users need an Android or iOS mobile device.
So far the app that was in use had limited use where one could just know the bus services available on the route. Post update, live tracking of selected buses is now also possible. For renewal or making new passes, students had to make a beeline at the counters of Aapli Bus operator. It used to be a time consuming feature and hence civic officials decided to start an online ticketing facility also.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Anchal Goyal was also present on the occasion. With the proliferation of Android and iOS phones, it was time for NMC to make full use of technology for smooth usage of the ‘Chalo App’. To get the pass, the students would have to upload necessary documents like a bonafide certificate, Aadhaar card, passport size photo, school/college i-card. Even regular travellers can also avail monthly, tri-monthly passes as it is now much easier.
The Transport Department has opened counters for making bus passes at Sitabuldi Depot, 3rd floor, Modi No 2 Lane, Manish Market building; Wadi Depot-CNG Pump, behind Octroi No 10 outpost; Hingna Depot besides Wasudeo Nagar metro station. Ganesh Rathod, Transport Manager, NMC, has appealed to citizens to make full use of the Chalo App new facilities.
