NMC launches ‘Matdaan Janjagruti Rath’ for voter awareness

Nagpur: Under the Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme prepared by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) for voter awareness in the city and district, a ‘Matdaan Janjagruti Rath’ is launched on Wednesday by Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, and by Dr Vipin Itankar, District Collector and District Election Officer, and Saumya Sharma, CEO of Zilla Parishad and District Election Nodal Officer.

Dr Ranjana Lade, Deputy Commissioner; Milind Meshram, Deputy Commissioner; Dr Gajendra Mahalle, Deputy Commissioner; Mahesh Dhamecha, Assistant Commissioner; Dr Deepak Selokar, Medical Health Officer; Dr Narendra Bahirwar, Additional Medical Health Officer; Dr Vijay Joshi, Additional Medical Health Officer; Ravindra Bundhade, Executive Engineer; Vijay Gurubakshani, Shrikant Waikar,and Manish Soni, Public Relations Officer were also present at the NMC Headquarters.

This ‘Rath’ will create public awareness across the city and reach eligible voters. Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari appealed to citizens to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming election, and said that elections are the epitome of democracy in which every eligible person has an equal right to vote. He added that the contribution of every voter will be crucial to achieve the target of at least 75 percent voting in Nagpur city.
