Shingne commits to deal with 572-1900 layout issue
Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) in its general meeting unanimously passed a resolution to nominate Bhushan Shingne for the post of NIT trustee. Ruling party leader Dayashankar Tiwari on behalf of BJP proposed the name of Bhushan Shingne for the post of NIT trustee, and the proposal was seconded by the majority support in the house.
It may be mentioned that Bhushan Shingne will take over the NIT trustee post vacated by Dr Ravindra Bhoyar owing to latter’s resignation. Shingne is a corporator form Prabhag-8 of NMC, Gorewada and is said to be close to BJP MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh.
Soon after formal announcement of his name, his supporters expressed joy amidst drum-beats and dhol-tashe. Expressing his gratitude towards his supporters, Shingne said that he would try his best to sort out NIT related issues in the interest of city and its citizens, particularly in development of 572-1900 lay-outs in the city.
During the process of nomination of a name, the Mayor had sought names from all the parties including the opposition, but as no name was tabled by opposition, the Ruling party tabled the name of Bhushan Shingne which was unanimously approved. It may be mentioned that the BJP has 83 members (Ruling- Nagpur Vikas Aghadi) in the 145-member NMC.
