Nagpur Municipal Corporation, represented by Mayor Pravin Datke, Dy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, Addl Commissioner Nayana Gunde and joined with local MLAs Sudhakar Deshmukh and Krishna Khopde, offered a rich tribute to Gowari Memorial at Zero Mile, here in the city, on November 23. Wreathes were laid on the memorial with emotional gesture.
It may be recalled that on the very date in year 1994, as many as 114 members of Gowari Samaj had died during a stampede at Zero Mile, here in the city, while they were agitating in a large number for fulfilment of their demand to award them Adiwasi status in the list of Scheduled Tribes under Constitution.
