NMC officials do not dare to remove BJP hoardings, charges NCP leader Vedprakash Arya

Nagpur: A few days ago, officials of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation took action in the Jaripatka area of Nagpur by removing posters of Guru Gobind Singh, the Sikh community’s Dharma Guru. Additionally, these posters were folded by feet, leading to a controversial act. As a result, a tense atmosphere prevailed in the area for some time, prompting members of the community to organize a protest.

In response to these incidents, Vedprakash Arya, the spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), interacted with the team of ‘Nagpur Today.’ It was pointed out that the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, despite its efforts, did not show the courage to remove hoardings put up by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Various unauthorized hoardings have been installed in public spaces across Nagpur. However, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation takes action only in areas where there is no political advantage,” Arya lamented and accused the Municipal Corporation of causing inconvenience to the general public and asserted that their actions were solely aimed at creating trouble.

Arya further criticized municipal officials for displaying a biased approach by removing hoardings of opposition leaders while avoiding any action against the BJP. He argued that such actions were taken merely to appease BJP leaders and did not serve the public interest.

Arya further said that the municipal officials in Nagpur are allegedly misusing their authority, focusing on removing hoardings of opposition leaders to please the BJP. Arya concluded by stating that even in Jaripatka, a shopkeeper had displayed Guru Gobind Singh’s posters on his private property, but these were also removed by the municipal authorities. He emphasized that the situation highlighted a biased and unjust approach by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
